Best AI SEO and GEO Tools for Small Business: Five Plans Compared
Compare five AI SEO and GEO tools for small businesses, with current pricing, prompt limits and original generative engine optimization budget calculations.

The best AI SEO tool for a small business depends on the job. Finding crawl problems, improving a service page and monitoring AI recommendations are different tasks. An AI visibility dashboard may help with the third while leaving the first two untouched.
For this update, we reviewed five providers' official pricing and documentation on September 20, 2026. We compared entry allowances, billing terms and measurement units. This is original desk research and arithmetic, not a hands-on accuracy benchmark. We did not buy subscriptions or test whether one provider finds more real customer mentions.
These monitoring products can support generative engine optimization (GEO) by recording how a business appears in AI answers. Tracking those answers is one part of GEO; improving the underlying information still requires work on your content and website.
Five AI SEO and GEO tool plans compared
Prices below are USD before tax, as displayed on the review date. The plans are not interchangeable.
| Provider and plan | Displayed price | What the allowance means |
|---|---|---|
| OtterlyAI Lite | $29/month, monthly billing | 15 tracked prompts, daily, with four included engines |
| Peec AI Starter | $95/month, monthly billing | 50 prompts, three selected models, daily, one project |
| Ahrefs custom prompts Basic | $50/month | 2,500 checks per month; a check is a consumption unit |
| Semrush AI Visibility Base | $99/month per domain, billed annually on the captured page | 25 custom prompts with daily tracking; other reports have their own update schedules |
| Profound | Free Trial; Enterprise custom pricing | Trial: ten prompts run once on ChatGPT; ongoing Enterprise scope requires a quote |
We checked Peec's rendered pricing page because its prices were missing from the initial text extraction. For Profound, the live brands page showed Trial and Enterprise. We excluded older search snippets advertising different packages.
The provider observations and research method preserve the basis for this comparison. Confirm the current plan and checkout terms before paying.
A small allowance can go further—or less far—than it sounds
Consider an illustrative panel of 12 customer questions, three engines, one location and one run per day. For a 30-day month:
12 × 3 × 1 × 30 = 1,080 individual checks.
Under Ahrefs' documented ordinary check unit, a 2,500-check budget supports 27 complete prompts at that schedule: floor(2,500 ÷ 90). Add a second location and that becomes 13 complete prompts. This is calculated capacity, not a test result. Engine-specific weights or additional runs can change consumption.
Peec's Starter allowance instead implies 4,500 answers in a 30-day month: 50 prompts × three models × 30 days. That does not mean it reaches 4,500 people, and it does not establish better accuracy. It describes the configured collection volume.
The lesson is practical: compare the exact questions, engines, locations and frequency you need. Comparing the numbers “50” and “2,500” without their units would produce a misleading buying decision.
Check engine add-ons before comparing prices
Otterly's Lite page listed Google AI Mode and Gemini at an additional $9/month each, and Claude at $29/month. Adding all three to the $29 base produces $76/month, a $47 increase. You may not need that configuration, but it shows why the advertised starting price is only part of a comparison.
Ask which specific surfaces are included. “Google AI” might refer to different products or reports. Also distinguish engines present in a vendor's broad visibility database from engines available for your own custom prompt panel.
Semrush's toolkit documentation, for example, distinguishes daily prompt tracking from other reporting schedules. A daily feature does not make every chart a daily measurement.
Which setup would I shortlist?
For a small, fixed panel on a limited budget, I would first compare Otterly's included engines with the questions I need answered. Its observed starting price was the lowest paid recurring entry price in this five-provider review. That is a price finding, not an accuracy ranking.
For more tracked questions with a clear prompt-and-model allowance, Peec's published Starter configuration is easy to budget. For a team comfortable managing consumption, Ahrefs makes it possible to calculate a check budget before choosing a schedule. Semrush deserves consideration when its broader domain analysis fits the same work. Profound's observed trial can provide a one-time view, but it is not a substitute for recurring measurement.
Before subscribing, request a sample export. Check whether it preserves the prompt, answer, engine, date and cited URLs. An attractive score is hard to act on if you cannot inspect the answers behind it.
Keep some budget for fixing the website
In our separate audit of 18 New England business homepages, four had no tel: link in the downloaded HTML and two had no canonical link element. Those observations do not prove a site is broken; they identify things worth checking before buying another dashboard. The homepage dataset contains the individual records.
Start with Search Console and your site's actual customer path. Then buy monitoring when you can name a decision it will support: which question to answer, which factual error to correct or which source to investigate.
Lookelo provides website and search services; it is not one of the monitoring software products tested here. If implementation is the bottleneck, talk to us about the pages that need work. For the measurement process itself, use our ChatGPT mention-tracking guide.
